A fascinating documentary on the late playwright, Harold Pinter. It was made by Harry Burton, who was given sole permission to film the Nobel Laureate working with actors on excerpts from his plays. Burton was a collaborator and friend of Pinter for 25 years. The documentary has riveting conversations, which shed further light on Pinter’s essential character and the art of theatre collaboration. Pinter actually asked Harry to go to Sweden to read his Nobel speech if he was too sick to attend. In the end, a broadcast of the dying playwright was used instead.
