synopsis

Cynthia Weber is a professor of international relations at Lancaster University (UK). Shortly after 9/11, the Ad Council, the largest producer of public service announcements in the United States, broadcast an ad campaign featuring people from diverse backgrounds declaring, "I am an American." In response, Professor Weber produced "I Am an American: Video Portraits of Unsafe U.S. Citizens," featuring short interviews with U.S. citizens about the impact of 9/11 on their lives.
