synopsis

In order to observe the lives and times of its four dispossessed characters, the film connects three different stories. Gulmohar is trying to cop up with his self-obsessed existence in a post-globalised, neo-liberal world. A Bangladeshi immigrant and a sex professional, Anita Muslim calls herself and her family the bookkeeper of communal violence in the Indian subcontinent. And Gomti, the river and a young girl in Lucknow from a family of shoemakers, her tryst with adulthood were getting over her foster father's will and she wants to run away from it all. It is Gulmohar who binds the two stories of Anita and Gomti.
