synopsis

Rugged is based on a true incident in Hassan. Shivu (Vinod Prabhakar), an innocent man, lives in a hamlet inside a forest. After differences with authorities, residents of the hamlet are forced to evacuate. To eke out his living, Shivu goes to the city with some of friends. When Shivu doesn't get a job, he is forced to take the illegal route to earn money.
