synopsis

The story of a struggling professional softball league and the players on the Ashland Abbott Labs team who, driven by their passion for the game, keep on playing despite the decline of fastpitch softball. In the league, filmmaker Spear meets a Maori homerun-hitting legend, an Ojibway Indian who is the world's greatest underhand pitcher, and a Florida millionaire obsessed with winning the World Championship.
