With modern-day Los Angeles as a backdrop, four Latinas rely on each

other for advice and support in love and life.

Story

Amidst the predictable dialog about racism, abuse and adultery is a thin plot about women looking for love in all the wrong places. The leader of the pack, Andrea, is thrown off her pedestal after the other women catch her husband cheating, sending women on a mind-numbing journey.

Acting

The acting is over-the-top, almost to the point of being laughable - even at times when the characters are grappling with serious subjects. Evalina Fernandez plays tough divorce lawyer, Andrea. Despite her success in her profession, Andrea is weak when it comes to dealing with men. Scott Bakula (TV's "Quantum Leap") plays her love interest, but the chemistry between them is so phony and predictable, you can't help but find it ridiculous.

Direction

Allowing the actors to be so over-the-top is the greatest fault of director Jose Luis Valenzuela. But, unfortunately, there are others.
