synopsis

Rajan Mathur, a professor in Urdu literature in Dr. Zakir Hussain College, resides in Chandni Chowk with his activist wife Roma Mathur. Prof. Mathur happens to meet a young boy, Numair Qazi, who introduces himself as a victim of communal riots in Gujarat, but is actually a suicide bomber commissioned by a Muslim fundamentalist group to blast a bomb near Red Fort on 15th August. During his roller coaster journey for 15 days to go for the blast-day, Numair manages to take shelter in Professor's house and wins the trust and fondness of the couple very soon. While helping Numair to get an employment and entry pass for 15th August celebrations at Red Fort, Prof. Mathur introduces him to the warm and loving people of Chandni Chowk who co-exist with love irrespective of their religions and minor differences. What astonishes Numair are the various multi-colour characters he comes across in Chandni Chowk. But, Numair has one focus in mind and a tough struggle ahead to achieve his mission to blast on a dotted date and time. During this process, he gets caught in an emotional dilemma that questions his deep-rooted beliefs in fundamentalism.
