Paruthiveeran headlines this colorful tale of tragic love concerning two smitten cousins forced apart by the caste system and a lingering family feud. Muthazhagu is a young girl from rural India who longs to marry her cousin Paruthiveeran. Years ago when Muthazhagu was just a small child Paruthiveeran saved her life. These days Paruthiveeran spends most of his time skirting the law and hanging around with prostitutes but Muthazhagu`s love is unconditional. One day Paruthiveeran finally acknowledges Muthazhagu`s advances and asks for her hand in marriage.
