synopsis

Pete and Lanny want to become stars in the "Gangster Rap" music world. Because they're white kids who have been raised in suburbia, they know nothing about the ghetto that fuels gangster rap. They also lack the $10,000 required to produce their debut album. And so they try two kill birds with one stone by heading out on an all-night crime spree in an attempt to satisfy their artistic and financial goals. This botched night of crime indirectly earns them fame and fortune in a bizarre twist of fate which gives them an opportunity to collect a $10,000 reward for their own crimes. The transformed and world-wiser Pete and Lanny accept the title of hero given to them by their community--and along with the cash--and take their first steps towards gangster rap fame.
