synopsis

Neil is a grown-up man with the brain of a seven year-old. Innocent and kind, Neil is loved by everyone. Through his eyes, he sees the world as a place without evil. This, he shares with his daughter Gungun whom he loves beyond imagination. The rest of his private world is made up of his landlady and a bookstore where he works. Gungun's mother, Maya, abandoned the child and Neil shortly giving birth, a secret that she has kept from her family. So, for seven years, Neil and Gungun just had each other for comfort. But, on the eve of Gungun's seventh birthday, Neil's father-in-law, Dayanath, finds out that he has a granddaughter. His first meeting with Neil does not go well, and Dayanath files a lawsuit to gain custody of the child. As Neil's world shatters around him, his decision to search for the best lawyer in town lands him at the office of Neeti Khanna. Ambitious but with a son whom she inadvertently neglects, Neeti is a far cry from the role model for Neil's court battle. She soon realises that fighting a powerful businessman like Dayanath isn't the only hurdle. A handicapped man responsible for raising a child isn't going to go down well with the jury.
