"Mom died this morning…" With this real-time documentary of her mother's Shivah, director Yael Katzir has created a moving personal diary, with her son Dan at the helm as her cameraman. In the living room people come to console the family; in the bedroom Katzir and her siblings discuss painful issues involving their mother. The film sensitively but firmly explores issues of intimacy, generational differences and family dynamics. At the same time it paints a fascinating portrait of the generation of Israelis who grew up post-Statehood and post-Holocaust.
