synopsis

Robert Brock, the artistic director and founder, lives above the Lancaster Marionette Theatre with his mother, Mary Lou. Together, they have been keeping this Lancaster treasure going for thirty years with unique takes on classic marionette shows for families and cabaret-style grown-up shows featuring Robert Brock performing as Liza Minnelli, Bette Midler, and other divas. Brock writes and performs all of the shows himself and even makes the marionettes. "Marionette Land" will chronicle the struggle of performing a one-man marionette show for a living and Brock's intense discipline for rehearsal and perfection. Robert has devoted his life to his marionette theatre for thirty years now but new challenges emerge as he enters the self-proclaimed "third act" of his life.
