synopsis

Sunitha Patel, 20 years old, comes from a traditional and conservative Gujarat family in Durban. Sunitha has a secret - a desire to surf. Surfing is not acceptable for a girl who is of marrying age. On the beaches of Durban, she discovers a whole new world of inter-racial love, ethnic diversity, arranged marriages, conflict and friendship - until Cory's demons cause havoc in her world. She defies her father and enters into a local surfing competition where she has to make a decision: her family or surfing. Her father's hardened heart is softened by her skill for the sport, and a near-death experience. In the end, Sunitha wins the competition, gains her father's approval, and the man of her dreams.
