Mathangi is a Telugu movie directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam and featuring Ramya Krishnan, Jayaram and Ramesh Pisharody in lead roles. Other popular actors are Veena Nair and Saju Navodaya.

The story is about King Udayapandyan who ruled some provinces of Tamil Nadu, 600 years ago and a huntress named Mathangi. When the King was defeated in a war, he takes shelter at Mathangi's bungalow and she vowed to take care of him, sacrificing her life before the deity Bhadrakali to save the life of the King. However, Mathangi's spirit continued to stay on and a yogi performed certain rituals to rein in her spirit. The myth continues as it affects the life of a well-known businessman Satyajith, who leads a happy life with his family.
