To Climb A Gold Mountain

synopsis

"To Climb a Gold Mountain" traces the lives of four of these women, beginning in the 1850s when the first Chinatown appeared in Los Angeles and traveling over 160 years to the 21st century. These characters appeared from starkly different backgrounds and lived dramatically different lives, some are all but forgotten, while others reached pinnacles of power and influence. While each in her own way climbed a gold mountain, they share bonds that have transcended time and circumstance. Through the stories of their lives and a reflection of the times in which they lived, the film relates both the tragic and the triumphant, and traces the plots that made Community what it is today, and reveal its heart throughout.
