Welcome to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Originally known as Hot Springs, the town took its name -usually shortened to "T or C"- in 1950. Ralph Edwards, host of the celebrated Truth or Consequences radio quiz show, began his weekly broadcast one evening with these words: "I wish that some town in the United States liked and respected our show so much that it would like to change its name to Truth or Consequences." This film explores the people who live in this small desert community, their environment, and the true ways of everyday American life.
