An insiders-look at the lives of twelve contemporary Cuban artists, ranging in age and sociopolitical backgrounds, living in Havana today. Through in-depth interviews, the film covers a diverse range of subjects, from supply shortages and constant blackouts, to family life, love, sex and music. Alumbrones, with its multi-dimensional appeal, combines a love of art with the enduring curiosity that people have about life in Cuba today.
