synopsis
After losing almost everything and enduring an almost constant health crisis, Ronald and Jessie Cooper became artists by chance in their mid-fifties. The husband and wife team complemented each others work: Jessie creating a world of heaven and Ronald depicting hell out of his own subconscious feelings. Their work quickly rose to fame within the folk/outsider art world to an international level.
The story interweaves themes of memory, loss, and death in relation to their art as revealed by Jessie's own struggle with succumbing to full-blown Alzheimer's disease and Ronald's battle to continue on after losing his soulmate.
